Albany ARC Holiday Events for People with Disabilities

Albany ARC makes sure that people with disabilities are included in all types of Holiday Events including parties, gifts, and even Caroling.

Below is a list of some the dates where community churches and agencies are collaborating with Albany ARC to provide a bright and happy Christmas season for people with disabilities.
At Albany ARC we believe that people of all abilities should experience the same opportunities, rights and freedoms as inclusive members of the community.

December 09-1st Free Will Baptist Church – A Birthday Party for Jesus 11:30 a.m. / 1:30 pm
Location: 1st FWB Church at 420 N. Westover Blvd.

Our friends at 1st Free Will Baptist will host a special luncheon for 50/60 adults with disabilities from our Residential Program. The church also provides at least one gift for every individual attending.
 
December 12-Albany VFW - Christmas Party for Individuals 6:30 – 9:00 pm
Location: VFW at 315 Philema Road

The local VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) is hosting a party for about 150 adults with disabilities from Albany ARC. They will enjoy party snacks, dancing and fellowship with the members of the local VFW.
 
December 13-Pfizer donates Angel Tree Gifts 10:00
Location: West End of Procter and Gamble / US 19

The local Pfizer Plant employees have adopted many families from our Angel Tree giving program and employees from Albany ARC will be picking up the presents at Pfizer.
 
December 14-Child Development Center Christmas Party with Deerfield
Location: Albany ARC / CDC at 2200 Stuart Avenue

Children from the Deerfield Windsor Lower Campus have adopted children with disabilities from our Angel Tree Giving Program. The Deerfield Students will be attending a special Christmas Party while dropping off their presents for the students in the Albany ARC CDC.
 
December 15- Adult Day Carolers Tour 10:00 a.m.
Location: Porterfield UMC at 2200 Dawson Road

Adults with disabilities will be caroling at Porterfield and other sites in the community to share their love of music and joy of community inclusion.
 
December 27-New Year’s Party for Individuals / 5:30—8:00 pm
Location: The Bindery (Lee Co. Library) at 445 Oakland Pkwy (US 82)

Albany ARC and staff from The Bindery will host a party for over 175 adults with disabilities. The attendees will enjoy party food, dancing and a special Glow Party provided by The Bindery.
