54th Annual Sylvester Peanut Festival This Weekend

Staff Report From Georgia CEO

Friday, October 20th, 2017

The Annual Georgia Peanut Festival is both a celebration as well as a “THANK YOU” to our community and most importantly, our local farmers. It is held at T.C. Jeffords Park near downtown Sylvester GA, on the 3rd Saturday of every October! Activities include one of the largest parades in the Southeast and craftsmen from all over the state showcasing their creations. Most importantly, you’ll experience peanut treats to delight everyone in the family (did you know that every jar of Peter Pan peanut butter is made right here in Sylvester GA?).

Thousands of people flock to Sylvester-Worth County to enjoy the festivities that go on throughout the day, and many locals participate in several events that happen in the weeks leading up to the Festival, like a beauty pageant with up to 100 contestants as well as the Pets ‘N Pals parade, so if you haven’t been yet, you really don’t know what you’re missing!

Everyone is invited for this day full of southern food, fun, and entertainment with fun for the entire family, including the free Kidz Korner for the little ones. We hope that you will join us in celebrating one of the largest industries in Georgia, right here in the Peanut Capital of the World!

The festival will begin at 7 pm on Friday, October 20th. The festival continues the next day at 8 am and don’t miss the parade at 10 am!
