MCLB Albany Closed Monday

Staff Report From Albany CEO

Monday, September 11th, 2017

Due to the anticipated severe weather from Hurricane Irma on Monday, the installation closed at midnight Sunday, only allowing access to those essential to the safety and security of personnel and property.

Numerous weather reports indicate this storm will strike as early as Sunday evening or Monday morning. As weather conditions deteriorate, expect access both on and off the installation to be restricted.

This closure will impact Marine Corps Logistics Command, Production Plant Albany, Defense Logistics Agency, Marine Corps Systems Command, and all other tenant commands.

All non-critical, non-emergency services such as the Child Development Center, Commissary, Marine Corps Exchange, Naval Branch Medical Clinic, and others will also be closed.

The safety of military and civilian personnel remains a top priority as officials continue to monitor weather conditions and make informed decisions.  The installation will remain closed until conditions exist for safe access and operations. Personnel can anticipate a delayed opening on Tuesday until potential damage to infrastructure can be assessed.
