Susan Hatcher Named as DCSS Chief Financial Officer

The Dougherty County Board of Education voted to promote Susan Hatcher to serve as the system's Chief Financial Officer during its meeting Wednesday. 

Mrs. Hatcher's experience in finance spans over 30 years.  She began her career with the Dougherty County School System in 1994 as an Accountant.   During her 23 years with the DCSS, Ms. Hatcher also served in the roles of Grants Coordinator, Budget Coordinator and Director of Finance.

As CFO, Hatcher will oversee the financial health of the district, managing its fiscal operations and supporting its mission of accountability and good stewardship. 

“Ms. Hatcher has  been a vital part of our Finance team, and I’m elated that she has agreed to continue to provide her excellent service as our new Chief Financial Officer, ” Associate Superintendent and Current CFO Kenneth Dyer said. Dyer will become the system's next superintendent on July 1. 

Ms. Hatcher graduated from Albany State University with a degree in Accounting. 

Ms. Hatcher enjoys her role as Director of Finance and is highly respected by her peers. She has devoted countless hours to serving the students and employees of this school district. 

“I have enjoyed my experience with the DCSS and I am excited and honored about the opportunity to serve in this new role.”, Hatcher said.
