Georgia Governor Nathan Deal announced Monday afternoon that he has extended the state-declared state of emergency for Dougherty County.

The extension was granted as county emergency managers and state officials determined that there is still a need for assistance in the counties and that state resources should continue to be made available to the counties.

The extension lasts until February 1 at 11:59 p.m.
