The Albany-Dougherty Economic Development Commission launched a new phase of its “#MadeInAlbanyGA” campaign featuring Marine Depot Maintenance Command, located aboard Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany.

Marine Depot Maintenance Command performs maintenance on land and amphibious assault vehicles used in combat by the United States Marine Corps and is the largest of the more than 40 tenant organizations conducting operations aboard Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany.

“We take great pride in the fact that the Marine Corps calls Albany home to one of its most vital Logistics Bases,” says ADEDC President Justin Strickland. “Being a command site for both the Logistics and Maintenance divisions of the Marine Corps means that MCLB Albany provides essential support to the Corps’ global network. Albany’s Marine Depot Maintenance Command production plant is one of only two in the country, and reinforces our significance in the Department of Defense.”

Because personnel are cross-trained to apply critical skills to a variety of equipment in different commodities, MDMC’s capabilities and services are highly flexible, with the ability to rapidly realign its work to meet the changing requirements of the Marine Corps and other customers, such as DOD outfits with similar needs.

MDMC is one of Albany-Dougherty County’s largest employers, with a workforce of nearly 3,000, including active-duty Marines, civilian and contract personnel.
