Albany Technical College Healthcare Technology to Hold Fall Capping & Pinning Wednesday

Albany Technical College’s Healthcare Technology division will hold the fall 2016 Capping and Pinning ceremony on Wednesday, November 30, 2016, beginning at 12Noon, in the Kirkland Conference Center.

Almost 40 students will be capped and pinned in the following programs: Practical Nursing, Health Information Coding, Health Information Management Technology, Surgical Technology, Radiologic Technology, and Advanced Emergency Medical Technician.

Keynote speaker will be Dr. Aurelia Vanderburg, owner of Vanderburg Endodontics, P.C. in Albany. A native of Skokie,
Illinois, Vanderburg grew up in the suburbs of Chicago. She received a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Spelman College in Atlanta and continued her education at the University of Michigan Dental School, where she received a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. She also completed a General Practice Residency program at The Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center in New York and attended the University of North Carolina Dental School-Chapel Hill, receiving a master’s degree and certification in Endodontics.

As a practicing Endodontist in the Washington, D.C. area, Vanderburg was voted a “Top Endodontist” by Baltimore
Magazine. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics and is one of only a few Board Certified endodontists in all of Southwest Georgia.
