GSW Ranks 11th on List of Schools With Most Affordable HR Degrees

Staff Report From Albany CEO

Thursday, July 30th, 2015

Georgia Southwestern State University was ranked 11th on the “50 Most Affordable Small Colleges for an HR Degree 2015” list assembled by humanresourcesmba.net released last week. Georgia Southwestern was one of only two Georgia colleges that made the list, ranking ahead of Brenau University.

In researching universities for the rankings, humanresourcesmba.net used College Navigator, an information tool offered by the National Center for Education Statistics, and individual school websites. They considered small schools as having less than 3,000 undergraduate students and looked only at accredited institutions offering a bachelor’s degree in human resources. Of the 194 institutions that fit these criteria, humanresourcesmba.net chose the top 50 with the lowest tuition and fees in 2014-15.

“This latest information, along with the recent information on our outstanding CPA pass rate, is further proof that for an outstanding, affordable education, GSW can't be beaten,” said Liz Wilson, Ph.D., dean of the GSW School of Business Administration. “Our School of Business holds the AACSB accreditation, unlike most of the schools on the list, so we can assure students and future students that they will receive the preparation they need to be successful in their careers.”

Among Georgia Southwestern’s other recent accolades, it was ranked 23rd out of the 100 Most Affordable Small Colleges East of the Mississippi by greatvaluecolleges.net and 40th out of the 100 Most Affordable Small Colleges in America by bestvalueschools.com. Additionally, Georgia Southwestern’s School of Business Administration and its MBA program were ranked 13th among the 50 Most Affordable MBAs in the country by topmanagementdegrees.com.
