Albany Budget Offers Hope for Civic Center Revival

I remember back in the ’80s, when the Albany Civic Center first opened and became the hottest concert venue in Georgia, driving to Albany from Ocilla to watch Zebra, Loverboy, Poison, Tesla, Bon Jovi and other artists perform.
I also remember, after moving here, watching Creed, ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Elton John, Willie Nelson, Guns N Roses, Hank Jr., Travis Tritt, Charlie Daniels, 3 Doors Down, Shinedown, Bryan Adams, Widespread Panic and others at the Civic Center after it really hit its stride and became the No. 2-grossing music venue in Georgia.
