Albany Tech Holds Spring Capping and Pinning Today

Albany Technical College will hold Health Care Technology programs Capping and Pinning for spring on Wednesday, April 29, 2015, beginning at 12Noon in the Kirkland Conference Center. Keynote speaker for the program will be Elois Edge, Labor and Delivery Staff Nurse for Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.

Serving as a Labor and Delivery Staff Nurse and Nursing Manager at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital from 1978 to 1997, Elois Edge holds a wealth of experience in the nursing field. She was a Clinical Instructor at Georgia Southwestern State University from 1994 to 1997 and also served at Phoebe Putney as a Prepared Childbirth Instructor and Certified Nurse Midwife for Adams and Woods, OB-GYN, Phoebe Women’s Center, and Albany Area Primary Health Clinic/Mirian Worthy Women’s Health Clinic.

Edge received her associate’s degree in Nursing from Darton College in 1978 and her bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Georgia Southwestern State University. She is also a graduate of the Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing in Hyden, Kentucky and received her master’s degree in Nursing from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. She is currently enrolled in the Doctorate of Nursing Practice program at Frontier Nursing Univeristy.

Nearly 40 Albany Tech students will be recognized during Wednesday’s ceremony, including Practical Nursing, Pharmacy Technology, Radiologic Technology, and Paramedicine.
