Albany Native James Salter Named Auburn HeritageBank Market President

HeritageBank of the South announces new leadership in the Auburn market. James Salter, formerly Electronic Banking Manager, has been promoted to Market President where he will take the lead in growing the Bank’s market share. Salter is eager for the opportunity to serve the Auburn market in an even greater capacity. According to Chief Executive Officer, Len Dorminey, “James has been a tremendous asset to our bank since joining us. His passion for commercial lending and enthusiasm for the community are exactly what we need in Auburn. His lending knowledge and community leadership will help to strengthen our presence in that region. I am confident he will continue to excel and do a great job as our Market leader in the Auburn market.”
Salter joined HeritageBank in 2011 in the Management Associate program in Albany. He later accepted a position as a Commercial Banker, taking him to Valdosta in August of 2011. Following the HeritageBank acquisition of the Auburn AB&T branch, Salter moved to Auburn in August 2012 and continued serving as a Commercial Lender. In his previous position as Electronic Banking Manager, he was responsible for all electronic delivery products and services such as online banking, mobile banking, cash management and merchant services.
In addition to his accomplishments in the professional realm, Salter’s service to the Auburn community is seen through his extensive involvement in various organizations. He currently serves as an Auburn Chamber of Commerce Diplomat. Salter is also committed to serving his alma mater by acting as Advisor for Kappa Alpha Order fraternity at Auburn University.
A native of Albany, Salter holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance as well as a Masters of Business Administration from Auburn University. Salter is married to Celeste, also a graduate of Auburn University who is a nutritionist in Columbus.
