The Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs www.acbsp.org Baccalaureate/Graduate Degree Board of Commissioners has reaffirmed accreditation of the business programs at Albany State University in Albany, Ga., www.asurams.edu.
Established in 1988, ACBSP is the only organization offering specialized business accreditation for all degree levels, from associate to baccalaureate to doctoral degree programs. ACBSP accreditation certifies that the teaching and learning processes within the College of Business at Albany State University meet the rigorous educational standards established by ACBSP.
The business programs at Albany State University were first accredited by ACBSP in 1994. This marks the second time the University has been through the reaffirmation process, required every 10 years to maintain ACBSP accreditation.
“Albany State University has shown their commitment to teaching excellence and to the process of quality improvement by participating in the accreditation process,” said ACBSP Chief Accreditation Officer Dr. Steve Parscale, who will present the Certificate of Reaffirmation of Accreditation at the ACBSP Conference 2015 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA, June 14.
“This accreditation is evidence that Albany State is committed to providing the highest quality business education for their students for the next 10 years, just as they have done since 1994,” said Parscale.
“I am proud of our College of Business faculty and staff members for their commitment to continuous improvement, as each person made enormous sacrifices preparing our organizational self-assessment report and hosting the ACBSP site-visit team back in October,” said Dr. Michael Rogers, interim dean of the ASU College of Business.
The ACBSP visiting team identified the faculty’s work on reinstituting the COB Executive Advisory Board as one of the college’s most significant strengths and encouraged faculty and staff members to continue to ramp up this partnership with area business executives.
“I look forward to attending the ACBSP conference in June to accept our Certificate of Reaffirmation and to share our success story around the partnerships established with area businesses,” Rogers said.
