A Sporting Clay Shoot hosted by Construction Angels, Inc will be held at The Forest City Gun Club, on Friday, February 13th, 2015. Construction Angels is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit charity that provides immediate financial assistance to the spouse and children left behind after a construction worker has lost their life on a job site, and grief counseling to family and co-workers. They also offer construction safety information and resources, as well as raise awareness of construction fatalities in the United States. Construction Angels is proud to announce that Hospice Savannah is their newest Affiliate in Georgia, who will provide grief counseling to the families and coworkers that are having a hard time dealing with this type of tragedy. Statistics show that 796 construction workers lost their lives in the US while on a construction jobsite in 2013; 70 times in Georgia alone.* Construction Angels are the first responders to the construction families in need of assistance when a disaster happens.

“When there is a fatality on a construction jobsite, please contact the charity immediately to begin assisting the family during their time of need. Construction Angels are the ‘First Responders’ to aid these families, and we need your help to communicate with us. Our team is excited to expand into Georgia, and we would like to have the assistance of all Construction Associations throughout the entire state to make this happen for their members and workers,” said Sharon Dressler, Director of Construction Angels, Inc.

The charity has expanded rapidly in the state of Florida since they began their mission in June 2011 with the help of Construction Associations such as: Associated General Contractors (AGC), National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC), Florida Transportation Builders’ Association (FTBA), National Underground Contractors Association (NUCA), etc. Their success in assisting families throughout Florida has led them to expand into Georgia, and eventually Ohio in July, 2015. Fundraising is critical to their success, and the charity plans on growing to a national level with support from all states. NAWIC Savannah, YMCA and Hospice Savannah are already on board and supporting the cause.

“All proceeds from the Georgia Sporting Clay Shoot will directly benefit the construction families in Georgia. Many of these families live paycheck to paycheck, and in many cases, the wife is left alone with her children worrying about how the family will survive without the help of her recently deceased husband,” said Kristi Ronyak, President and Founder of Construction Angels, Inc.

Registration deadline has been extended to January 27th, with a rain date of Friday, March 13th. All donations are tax-deductible.
