SunTrust Mortgage, Inc., a division of SunTrust Banks, Inc. has been inducted into the Mortgage Bankers Association's (MBA) Hall of Honor program for its commitment to U.S. military veterans and active-duty personnel.
"At SunTrust we are proud to provide our military heroes and military personnel and their families with the financial services and assistance to help them achieve their goals and make their transition to civilian life as seamless as possible," said Jerome Lienhard, president and CEO of SunTrust Mortgage, Inc.
The MBA's Hall of Honor program was created to acknowledge member companies with programs serving the nation's heroes in three categories—financial counseling, employment assistance and homeownership assistance. SunTrust is one of 17 companies nationwide to be honored by MBA this week at its 2014 Annual Convention.
"I'm pleased to present this honor to SunTrust," said Bill Cosgrove, CMB, 2015 MBA Chairman and CEO of Union Home Mortgage Corp., Strongsville, Ohio. "SunTrust, through its commitment to helping the military community, has demonstrated first-class service towards recognizing the men and women who defend our nation. It's programs such as these that reinforce the mortgage industry's dedication to the military."
SunTrust's partnership with the Military Warriors Support Foundation (MWSF) is just one example of how SunTrust is supporting military veterans and active-duty personnel. Together, SunTrust and MWSF donated homes to wounded veterans earlier this month in Beaufort, South Carolina, and St. Augustine, Florida.
SunTrust is a purpose-driven organization, focused on lighting the way to financial well-being for all its clients, including military veterans and active-duty personnel. Through partnerships with various organizations, SunTrust sponsors military hiring fairs, provides financial counseling for personnel transitioning to civilian life, donates homes to veterans and their families, and more.
