Flint RiverQuarium Plans River Zombies 5K

Press release from the issuing company

Tuesday, October 28th, 2014

Saturday, November 15, at 11 a.m. the Flint RiverQuarium River Zombies 5K run & obstacle course returns for a third year. The event will be held at the former First Tee location behind the James H. Gray Civic Center.

Organizers urge runners to be prepared to get muddy! Participants will navigate the course while trying to avoid the zombies chasing them to steal their “life flags.”

The River Zombies 5K is an untimed race. Each person crossing the finish line will receive a medal. The first female and first male to cross the finish line with the most life flags left will each receive a prize. Minimum age to participate is 12 years. If under 18, parent must be present and sign a waiver.

The entry fee is currently $25 for individuals, with teams of four receiving $5 off their total registration. The individual fee increases to $30 on November 14. This year, runners may choose to buy up to two extra life flags the day of the race for $5 per flag as long as extra flags are available. Registration is available online at flintriverquarium.com or raceroster.com. Runners may pick up race packets at the race site the day of the race from 8-10 a.m.

Sponsors for the River Zombies 5K are Procter & Gamble, the Kattalist Group, and MakerSpace.
