The inaugural 2014 Women of Purpose, Power and Prestige Awards Luncheon, proudly presented by Procter and Gamble, will be held on Saturday, May 3rd  at the Darton State College Student Center. Featuring the Women of Purpose, Power and Prestige Awards Ceremony, which honors women in the nonprofit sector, business sector, education, faith-based, and young women under the age of 21, during the luncheon taking place from 12:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Among the highlights will be the popular Vendor Showcase and networking, beginning at 11:00 AM. Proceeds from this event will benefit Girls Inc. of Albany, GA

Erica Savage, author and owner of 23 Books and Bistro, is the 2014 Luncheon Chair. Sponsorship opportunities are available. Individual tickets are $30 in advance and $40 at the event. Tables are $250 for premiere seating of 8. Tickets are available at Girls Inc. of Albany, GA, the Albany Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce.

This year’s keynote speaker will be actress Terri J. Vaughn. Terri Vaughn has been honored with three Image Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actress for her work on “The Steve Harvey Show" and was also nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her work on “Soulfood,” as Eva Holly, during her multi-episode guest arc on the groundbreaking series.  Included on Terri’s resume is the Tyler Perry film “Daddy’s Little Girls.”  She can also be seen in the independent dramedies, “Dirty Laundry”, “3 Can Play That Game” and “The Marriage Chronicles”.  Out of her desire to give back to her community, in 1997, Terri started Take Wings Foundation.
