Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp announced that 11,970 Georgians went online using a computer or the MVP mobile app to use the new online voter registration system.  6,884 new voters used the system and 5,086 citizens used the system to update their information.

“When we launched this system 3 weeks ago, I made a commitment to speak to as many Georgia voters as possible so that they could take advantage of this great new tool,” said Kemp. “The team in the Office of the Secretary of State spoke and worked in every region of Georgia to get people engaged in the new system. It is enormously gratifying that Georgians responded in numbers this large.”

Georgia voters can download the new “My Voter Page” (MVP) app on their Apple or Android device, where they can view their specific sample ballot, find their early voting and election day polling locations, check voter registration status and track the status of their absentee ballot. Just search for “GA Votes” in the app store.

While the April 21st deadline for voter registration in order to participate in the May 20thPrimary has passed, citizens with a valid Georgia driver’s license can still use the system to register for the November 4th General Election. The deadline for registration for the General is October 6, 2014.

Brian Kemp has been Secretary of State since January 2010. Among the offices wide-ranging responsibilities, the Secretary of State is charged with conducting secure, accessible and fair elections, the registration of corporations, and the regulation of securities and professional license holders.
