Georgia Power announced that it has added more than 2,600 new Authorized Payment Locations across the state. The new APL locations allow customers to pay their Georgia Power bills where they shop at a time that's convenient for them. Locations include retailers such as Kroger, Ingles, Rite Aid, Publix, Walmart, Kmart and Piggly Wiggly, with payments processed through Western Union and the CheckFreePay walk-in bill payment service from Fiserv, Inc.

When combined with the company's 131 individual business offices, APLs provide additional payment flexibility by offering evening and weekend hours. Payments can be made in any amount and will be immediately posted to the customer's account.

"We know it is important for our customers to have multiple, easy ways to pay their bills and to minimize the time it takes to make a payment," said Mike Hazelton, senior vice president of marketing for Georgia Power. "The new retail locations add a tremendous level of convenience not only for customers who prefer to pay their bills in person, but also for customers who need to make a payment immediately at night or on weekends."
