U.S. Travel Agencies' Air Ticket Sales Remain Slightly Ahead of 2012

ARC, the financial settlement link between airlines and travel sellers, reported today that the consolidated dollar value of airline tickets sold by U.S.- based travel agencies increased 1.32 percent* year-over-year in the first eleven months of 2013 compared to the same period last year, totaling $80.9 billion vs. $79.8 billion in 2012. Sales for November 2013 were $6.2 million, a 1.1 percent increase over November 2012.

As of November 30, ticket transactions for 2013 remained virtually flat at -0.88 percent with 133.5 million transactions versus 134.7 million transactions over the same period in 2012. Year-to-date passenger segments decreased 2.1 percent to 335.2 million compared to 342.4 million in the first eleven months of 2012 and 342.3 million in 2011.
