The Community Bankers Association of Georgia’s (CBA) Leadership Division elected a new Division Vice Chair at the 35th Annual Leadership Division Convention and Mini-Trade Show held recently in Amelia Island, Florida. The new Vice Chair and PAC/PR Fundraising Chair is Jason Rooks, Vice President/Commercial Lending Officer, Flint Community Bank, Albany. Jason will also serve as the Committee Chair for PAC/PR Fundraising. The CBA would like to congratulate Jason and wish him a successful year. Jason serves on the Lee County Chamber of Commerce Executive Board where he served as Chairman in 2011-12 and the United Way board.  He is a member of the Albany Rotary Club and Sherwood Baptist Church.  Jason is married to Amanda Rooks and they have two children, Preston and Calley.

“We’re pleased to welcome new and returning members to the CBA Leadership Division Board of Directors,” said Rob Braswell, President & Chief Executive Officer, Community Bankers Association of Georgia. “With such a talented and motivated group of community bankers on the board, we’re anticipating a very exciting and productive year. We look forward to working with our dedicated board members throughout the year.”

The Leadership Division of CBA was created in 1980 to educate and inform future bank leaders on the current issues in the banking industry and to prepare them for further leadership roles in their institutions.  The Leadership Division works closely with many schools and organizations throughout communities to educate the public on community banking, careers in banking and other financial topics. One of the main principles of the Leadership Division is to promote economic education by teaching students about banking, saving, spending, interest, credit and other related issues.  Each year, the Leadership Division conducts several fundraisers that benefit Children’s Healthcare, as well as the CBA PAC/PR Funds.
