MCLB Albany Employees to be Furloughed 11 Days Beginning in July

According to a furlough plan recently implemented by the Secretary of Defense, federal civilian employees aboard MCLB Albany are receiving notice of proposed furlough letters through the remainder of the week.
The memorandum is designed to prepare the workforce for the proposed 11-day furlough period which is scheduled to begin in July 2013 and last through Sept. 2013. Guidelines call for most employees to be furloughed up to 16 hours per pay period for 11 consecutive weeks.
Base and tenant officials recognize the difficult personal financial implications of any furlough on both our people and the community.
