Press release from the issuing company

Wednesday, January 30th, 2013

The Flint RiverQuarium Board of Directors voted last evening to implement a reduction in force, eliminating the CEO position as a cost saving measure. Current Flint RiverQuarium CEO Sanders Lewallen has served in that position since June 2011.  Emily Jean McAfee, FRQ Board chairman, stressed that the decision was strictly a business one.

“Sanders joined the RiverQuarium at a very challenging time. We greatly value the talent and dedication he has shown to the organization, but regrettably the budget situation forced us to make this extremely tough decision. We wish Sanders only the best and know that with his experience and expertise he has a very bright future ahead.”

McAfee will serve as temporary interim CEO of the Flint RiverQuarium
