AB&T National Bank recently announced an addition to their Commercial Banking Department. Matthew H. Rushton has joined AB&T as Vice President/ Commercial Banker at their Meredyth Drive location.

An Albany native, Matt attended Albany High School. He later went on to the University of Georgia, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics. After returning to Albany, Matt began his banking career in February of 2002 at SunTrust Bank. A graduate of SunTrust Bank Commercial Management Training Program, he has extensive training and knowledge in understanding the financing and cash needs of all types of business. As First Vice President, Commercial Line of Business, he has had the opportunity to apply his knowledge
and training by actively managing a book of business in excess of $100 million.

Matt is a member of Darton College Foundation Board of Trustees, Southwest GA 40 under 40, and an ambassador for Albany Chamber of Commerce. He is on the Headmaster’s Council at Deerfield-Windsor School and the Finance Committee and Church Council for First United Methodist Church. Additionally, he is a volunteer for the Flint RiverQuarium and Chehaw Wild Animal Park.
