Belk recently completed a major expansion and remodeling of its ladies shoe department at Belk of Albany Mall in Albany, Ga. The $700,000 project also created new fashion jewelry and accessories areas.

"We believe customers will love the exciting changes we've made in our store," said Tony Lewis, vice president and regional manager of Belk's Central Georgia Region. "We have a brand new ladies shoes department that's been nearly doubled in size to approximately 7,000-square- feet of space. This allows us to offer a much larger selection of top ladies shoe brands and styles. We've also updated our accessories department and created a modern fashion jewelry area with new open display fixtures designed to make shopping easier and more convenient."

"These improvements demonstrate our ongoing commitment to serving customers in the Albany community," added Brady Haire, store manager. "It's part of our new mission to satisfy the Southern lifestyle needs of customers like no one else by delivering the fashion they desire and the value they deserve."

Belk has served the Albany community since opening its first store there in 1937. It moved to its Albany Mall location in 1976.
