Over 300 Small Businesses, Corporations and Government Agencies Meet to Jump Start Job Growth in Georgia

Who: Georgia’s top corporations and government agencies will strike up business with WBEs at the Greater Women’s Business Council annual POP Marketplace Event. Confirmed companies attending include: Accenture, BMW, Delta Air Lines, Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, Georgia Power, GE Energy, Spherion, TBS, The Clorox Company and UPS.

Georgia was ranked number one as the fastest growing number of women businesses in the U.S. by American Express Open State of Women’s Business Report. GWBC certified WBEs reported over $4 billion in revenues in 2009 and employ over 40,000 people. Metro Atlanta WBEs generate $3.3 billion in revenue and employ over 15,000 people. Lynn Tilton, CEO of The Patriarch Partners has a patented business plan to create jobs in America. Kathy Betty and Lynn Tilton both provide a beacon of hope to those suppliers and workers that support their organizations.

What: The event is geared toward helping small businesses thrive in a tough economy and add jobs, products and service lines. Kathy Betty, owner Atlanta Dream and Lynn Tilton, CEO of Patriarch, an $8 billion company, will be the speakers at the event. Pamela Prince-Eason, president of the Women Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) and Roz Lewis, executive director of GWBC will also be in attendance. Over 10,000 women businesses have been certified through WBENC.
