Honey Baked Ham (621 Westover) Score: 91 A
Violations: Cheese served from Prep Cooler is not stored in a proper container, therefore it cannot maintain a temperature of 41F (cheese temp = 50F). Turkey salad was also not holding temperature at 41F (turkey salad temp =50F). Both were corrected on site. Cheese was put back into the bottom of the prep cooler and ice was added to the turkey salad. PIC was given "Time as a Public Health Control" form for an option of keeping cheese out of temperature.

Waffle House (1702 E Oglethorpe) Score: 88 B
Violations: Observed utensils in hand sink. observed food employee not wearing a proper hair restraint. observed rusted racks need replacing in reach in cooler; observed gasket on reach in cooler needs replacing. observed exterior of drink machines needs cleaning; observed area around waffle irons needs cleaning. observed no lid on trashcans that contain food.

Applebee's (637 Westover Blvd) Score: 95 A
Violations: Observed boxes of food and drink stored on unapproved racks in walk-in coolers. Observed single service products (cups, straws, lids) stored on floor in storage shed out back. Shed needs to be better organized so that single-service products are stored on racks 6 inches off the ground. Trashcans containing food must be covered when not in use. Excessive flies in establishment.
Blackbeard's (2209 N Slappey) Score: 81 B
Violations: Observed potentially hazardous food cold held at greater than 41 degrees Fahrenheit. Ready-to-eat, potentially hazardous food prepared on site and held more than 24 hours with not properly date marked (grilled chicken, ribs, rice, cooked shrimp). Wet wiping cloth not stored in sanitizing solution between uses. Wiping cloth chlorine sanitizing solution not at proper minimum strength. Equipment and utensils not properly air-dried. Observed single-service items stored on floor. Observed grease bin uncovered. Seal openings in wall of employee restroom as needed. Observed built up dust on walk in cooler fans and surrounding area.

Arby's (2718 Dawson Rd) Score: 97 A
Violations: Observed raw bacon stored above ready-to-eat food (grapes) in walk-in cooler.
China Cafe (Albany Mall) Score: 90 A
Violations: Observed the temperature in the walk-in cooler at 48F. Observed excessive grease build up and food debris under the deep friers. Pull deep friers out and thoroughly clean the floor.
July 13
El Maya II (2800 Old Dawson Rd) Score: 87 B
Violations: Observed Potential Hazardous Foods (PHF) stored above 41F (raw beef, raw shrimp, shredded cheese, shredded chicken, please see temps listed). Observed broken cooler door which is most likely contributing to higher temperatures. Walk in coolers temp was at 43F when checked. Observed cardboard box places under deepfrier to collect grease. Box needs to be removed and floor cleaned. Observed rusted out grill guard with bucket below to catch debris. Observed no papertowels in employee restroom. Observed pest at handwash sink by backdoor. Management is currently applying pesticides themselves and have been told they need a certified exterminator to use pesticides.
