SBA Approves More Than $5M for Georgia Residents

The U.S. Small Business Administration has approved more than $5 million in Disaster Assistance Loans for Georgia residents affected by the severe storms, tornadoes, high winds and associated flooding that occurred on April 27-April 28, 2011.
“Currently, we have approved$5,005,200for individuals and businesses in Georgia,” said Frank Skaggs, director of SBA Field Operations Center East in Atlanta. “We are pleased to get these loans approved so the people of Georgia can start to rebuild and resume their normal lives.”
Survivors in the declared counties are urged to register with the Federal Emergency Management Agency by calling 800-621-FEMA (3362), TTY 800-462-7585. Those who received SBA loan applications are encouraged to return them before theJune 28 deadlineeven if they do not want a loan. If the SBA is not able to approve a home loan, the individual may be referred to FEMA for possible grant assistance.
