State Labor Commissioner Mark Butler said today that the Georgia Department of Labor will host an online chat about “GDOL Services for Businesses” next week. The event is designed to help employers learn more about the resources, tools, and incentives available from the labor department. The online chat will be held Wednesday, June 29, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the GDOL website www.dol.state.ga.us.

The 90-minute, question-and-answer live chat, one of the new services provided by the department, is called “Ask T.E.D.” (Type, Explore, Discover). Participants will be able to chat with experts to ask questions that will help them take better advantage of the services available from the agency and, hopefully, improve their business operations.

“I’m committed to improving services to Georgians by upgrading and utilizing technology,” said Commissioner Butler. “This chat is one example of how we’re doing this to better serve our state’s employers, who’re critical to rebuilding Georgia’s economy.”

The online chat will focus on the multitude of services available to businesses and employers throughout the state. The panelists will be experts in areas like recruiting assistance for employers, employer committees, employment law consultation, labor market information, tax credits and incentives, unemployment insurance, child labor, vocational rehabilitation services, and the Workforce Investment Act.

Business men and women across the state are encouraged to sign into the chat. To sign up, go to the GDOL website at www.dol.state.ga.us and go to the Spotlight or Quicklinks section of the page.
