The Flag Company, Inc., the South’s largest distributor of flags and flagpoles, is proud to announce that it has been named one of Cobb County’s Top 25 Small Businesses of the Year by the Cobb Chamber of Commerce and The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Businesses were nominated earlier this year, and after a review by an independent panel of judges, The Flag Company, Inc. was selected as one of the Top 25 companies. Candidates were evaluated based on the criteria published by the U.S. Small Business Administration. Those criteria include staying power, growth in number of employees, increase in sales or unit volume, current and past financial standing, innovative products and services, response to adversity, evidence of contributions to aid community projects and overall management philosophy.
In addition to its flagpole business, The Flag Company, Inc. offers all kinds of flags and flag accessories to eighteen defined categories of business, including single use purchasers through its internet stores. Its Flagpole Beacon, designed to reduce light pollution and light trespass, represents the only true innovation in the flagpole industry in the last fifty years. Contract screen printing for one of the top five flag manufacturing companies in the nation and for one of the largest banner companies in the Southeast keeps production lines humming. The Flag Company, Inc. has niche markets with products it either has created, such as the Feel Good Light-Ups, or has created a bigger need for, such as toothpick flags, which are produced in-house.
“It is such an honor to be recognized as one of Cobb County’s Top 25 Small Businesses of the Year. The list is comprised of many types of businesses, which just proves what a great place Cobb County is to grow your business,” said Mike Lawrence, vice president.
