Employer seminar on General Assembly Update set for June 21 in Albany

The Georgia Department of Labor’s (GDOL) Albany Career Center and the Albany Area Employer Committee will host an employer seminar on legislative laws passed by the recent Georgia General Assembly. The seminar will be held Tuesday, June 21, from 8:30-10 a.m. at the career center, located at 1608 South Slappey Blvd. in Albany.

The seminar will focus on updated information on laws passed by the legislature that is of primary interest to employers. It is designed for business owners, human resource managers, supervisors, and entrepreneurs. The seminar will be led by Melanie Stockwell of Atlanta, deputy commissioner of legal and policy procedures for the Georgia Department of Labor, and legislative liaison Kash Trivedi, also of Atlanta.

Employer committees are groups of local business representatives who establish and maintain working relationships between employers and GDOL career centers. The Albany Area Employer Committee works with the Albany Career Center.
