Georgia Manufacturing Sees Slight Dip in April
Tuesday, May 3rd, 2011
The rebound of Georgia’s manufacturing industry continued in April despite a slight dip.
Manufacturing activity in Georgia remained strong and stable, according to the Econometric Center atKennesaw State University’s Coles College of Business. Georgia’s Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) -- a reading of economic activity in the state’s manufacturing sector -- was 67.4, down 0.2 point from March. But despite the dip, the April reading shows more manufacturers continue to experience growth, KSU said.
A PMI reading above 50 shows manufacturing activity is expanding, while a reading below 50 shows it is contracting.
