Former Palmyra CEO Named Head of South East Fla. Hospital

Mark Rader, the CEO of Palmyra Medical Centers has been named as the new Chief Executive Officer of University Hospital and Medical Center in Tamarac Fla., hospital officials say.

According to its website, University Hospital and Medical Center is a HCA-owned 317-bed medical center in Tamarac, Fla.

It has provided healthcare to Broward County since 1974.

Rader is currently head of HCA-owned Palmyra Medical Centers. That hospital's future appears to be in limbo after the Federal Trade Commission derailed cross-town rival Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital and HCA's efforts to sell the facility for $195 million.
