EDC Names Industry Award Winners

The Albany-Dougherty Economic Development Commission and Albany Area Chamber of Commerce recognized four Albany manufacturers at an Industry Appreciation Rise N Shine Breakfast Tuesday at the Hilton Garden Inn.
Albany-Dougherty Economic Development Commission President Ted Clem handed out awards for Global Commerce to Pfzier, Inc; Excellence in Innovation to Lawson Industries; Economic Impact to MCLB-Albany; and The Goodlife City Award to MillerCoors.
"In 2010, existing industries invested more than $25.5 million in our community and created more than 80 new jobs. That investment speaks to their commitment to our community and their belief that they can be successful here," Clem said. "One of the objectives of the awards is to promote our industries and increase awareness about them.
