Delta Reports Traffic Jump, Load Decrease

Atlanta-basedDelta Air LinesInc. on Wednesday reported traffic results for April 2011. System traffic in April 2011 increased 2.6 percent compared to April 2010 on a 5.3 percent increase in capacity, according to a company statement. Load factor decreased 2.2 points to 80.8 percent.
Domestic traffic decreased 1.5 percent year over year on a 0.2 percent decrease in capacity. Domestic load factor decreased 1.1 points to 83.1 percent. International traffic increased 9.6 percent year over year on a 14.4 percent increase in capacity, and load factor decreased 3.5 points to 77.4 percent, according to Delta.
