Commissioner Says Industry Interested in South Georgia

The recession is close to over according to Deputy Commissioner Gretchen Corbin from the Georgia Department of Economic Development. Corbin says the economy may not return to what people were used to pre-recession, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Corbin says it’s been existing businesses holding the local economy together during the recession.
Corbin visited Albany today to discuss Georgia’s economic status during the Albany-Dougherty Economic Development Commission Industry Luncheon.She says new industry is interested in coming to South Georgia but potential employees need to “always be ready to play.”
"For any company we always have to be ready for what they're looking for and they are always needing great talent, good logistics and a cooperative community around them, so if we can build that environment for them they're going to have a much better chance at succeeding," says Corbin.
