Alexandria, Va. – IT employment once again continued its pattern of month-over-month growth by adding 1,400 jobs last month.

According to a monthly index of IT jobs developed and published by TechServe Alliance, a collaboration of IT services firms, clients, consultants and suppliers, the number of IT jobs grew by 0.04 percent in March to 3,999,400. Although month-over-month growth has moderated as it approaches the 4 million mark, IT jobs are up for the 15th consecutive month.

"While the rate of growth varies month-to-month given the dynamic nature of the economy and the labor market, the addition of nearly 160,000 jobs since a year ago paints a decidedly upbeat picture of demand for IT professionals," commented Mark Roberts, CEO of TechServe Alliance. "The data is further confirmed by strong anecdotal reports of our members companies pointing to continued strength in our sector," said Roberts.
