Monica Mennite, Doctor of Audiology at The Hearing Center at Albany ENT, was one of the leading hearing health care professionals from across the U.S. invited to attend the Oticon Clinical Grand Rounds Conference in Scottsdale, Arizona. Mennite was joined at conference by two Albany ENT colleagues: Christopher Mann, M.D. and Lesli Todd who serves as practice administrator.

The three-day conference focused on improving patient care in multi-disciplinary practices such as hospitals and ENT clinics that offer patients coordinated care and seamless access to hearing care specialists.

“The goal of the multi-specialty practice is to optimize each patient’s personal journey to better hearing,” said Mann. “State-of-the-art facilities and technologies and highly skilled and credentialed staff are among the many benefits we provide at Albany ENT.”

Conference participants discussed ways to ensure a successful journey for the patient through the clinical experience, looking at a number of key factors including previous experience with hearing instruments, stage of readiness and social and employment considerations. Participants also explored the newest research and techniques to strengthen interpersonal relationships between the patient and all members of the clinical staff—from practitioner to front desk administrators.

Mennite pointed out that hearing care at The Hearing Center at Albany ENT is designed to exceed expectations, not only in the range of hearing solutions provided but also in the quality of one-on-one care that each patient receives.  “We aim to empower patients and their families to actively participate in the ‘journey’ to a successful and satisfying outcome,” she explains.
