Lee Commissioners Cheer SPLOST Vote

Despite light turn out, voters in Lee County overwhelmingly supported extending the regular sales tax and a sales tax for schools and commissioners Wednesday say that will help them not raise taxes for homeowners.
Lee County Commissioners were thrilled that more than 85 -percent of voter approved the SPLOST extension. The one percent sales tax is expected to generate 26 million dollars for the county to fund all sorts of projects. A majority of the projects include road improvements and public safety items.
