Georgia’s tax revenue went up 26.1 percent in February, boosted by a big jump in individual income tax collections that came from an accounting change.

The Georgia Department of Revenue reported Tuesday the state raised $715.3 million in tax revenue last month, compared with $567.3 million in February 2010.

"Signs continue to suggest that our state economy is rebounding strongly, and we'll continue to work at the state level to see that this growth translates into new job opportunities for all Georgians," Gov. Nathan Deal said in a statement.
