Georgia remains home to five of the wealthiest people on earth.
According to Forbes magazine’s annual list of the world’s billionaires published Thursday, five billionaires who call the Peach State home are some of the wealthiest people in the world.
The richest among Georgia’s billionaires is Anne Cox Chambers, the 91-year-old daughter of James M. Cox, the media mogul who built Cox Enterprises Inc. She ranks No. 53 in the world and No. 20 in the United States with a current estimated net worth is $13.4 billion. Her estimated net worth last year was $12.5 billion.
