Employer Seminar set for February 15 in Albany

The Georgia Department of Labor’s (GDOL) Albany Career Center and the Albany Area Employer Committee will co-sponsor a seminar on proper procedures for hiring and terminating personnel for businesses in the area. Employer committees are groups of local business representatives who establish and maintain working relationships between employers and GDOL career centers.
Entitled, “From Hiring to Firing – All the Pieces Should Fit,” the seminar is especially designed for business owners, human resource managers, supervisors and entrepreneurs. It will be held Tuesday, Feb. 15, from 8:30-11:30 a.m. at the GDOL’s Albany Career Center, located at 1608 South Slappey Blvd. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. with a continental breakfast included in a $20 registration fee.
Jimmy Lindsey of Albany, director of human resources and marketing at AB&T National Bank, will lead the seminar. It will focus on such topics as: The Hiring Interview-How to Make the Most of Them; The New Employee Orientation-Getting the New Employee Started Off On the Right Foot; Progressive Discipline-When Things Go Wrong; and Dismissal-When Things Go Very Wrong.
