Customers Line up at Verizon Store for iPhones

About two dozen eager customers lined up in the cold Thursday morning outside the Verizon store on Howell Mill Road in northwest Atlanta to buy iPhones as AT&T's three-year monopoly on the popular device came to an end.

The store normally opens at 9 a.m., but employees opened the doors two hours early to get those customers in out of the cold and begin selling the phones.

Longtime Verizon customer Marcus Spencer said he got in line about 6:15 a.m. “to make sure I get mine.”
