Marietta Tapped as Mayor Pro-Tem of Albany Commission

The Albany City Commission voted Monday to make Commissioner Roger Marietta the backup for Mayor Willie Adams for the next year by choosing him to fill the Mayor-Pro Tempore position.
The position, which by rule of the commission typically rotates numerically from commissioner to commissioner, was supported by a unanimous vote Monday.
"It's an honor and a responsibility I feel I can handle," Marietta said after the meeting. "Former Mayor Pro-Tem (Dorothy) Hubbard and Mayor Pro-Tem (Christopher) Pike have done a great job laying the groundwork in that position and I hope to continue that on."
