Palmyra Opens Pediatrics Unit

On the third floor of Palmyra Medical Center is a unit that doesn’t feel like it’s part of a hospital.

That’s because it was designed to feel that way.

Today, as part of a $4 million renovation overhaul, Palmyra will be opening the doors of a new pediatrics unit.

The unit has five rooms operating, with three more ready to open depending upon the pediatric census in the coming months. Each room has a theme, such as “The Lion King,” “Cars” or Disney princesses.

“It’s so they (the patients) can bond with the room,” explained Palmyra CEO Mark Rader. “They don’t need to know the room number.
