The Peach State’s high-tech exports were down by some $222 million in 2009, TechAmerica Foundation reported Tuesday.
The 8 percent drop from 2008 to 2009 amounted to total of $2.5 billion in high-tech exports for Georgia, according to “Trade in the Cyberstates 2010: A State-by-State Overview of High-Tech International Trade.” That level of high-tech exporting ranks Georgia as the 17th “cyberstate.”
Some 5,900 jobs in Georgia are supported by tech exports.
