Georgia Spent $979 Million in Stimulus Funds in the Third Quarter

According to information the state released Monday, Georgia has received $6.9 billion in stimulus funding since President Barack Obama signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act in 2009. Through the third quarter of 2010, the state was awarded $4.9 billion and spent $2.8 billion. The money spent was responsible for the creation of 29,113 state agency jobs, meaning other jobs created in local municipalities were not tabulated by the state.
