Georgia Ports Haul new Records in October

Georgia’s Ports continued to post record numbers in October, Georgia Ports Authority reported Monday.

Overall tonnage recorded a new monthly record handling 2,347,260 tons -- up 9.8 percent over last October.

Other highlights:

The Port of Savannah’s Garden City Terminal handled a record 152,469 containers -- a rise of 17.8 percent. The terminal also handled or 273,296 twenty-foot equivalent units -- a 16.7 percent jump.
