Daylight Saving Time Ends with Fire Safety Reminder
Press release from the issuing company
Friday, November 5th, 2010
Daylight savings time ends this weekend. Firefighters want you to use that as a fire safety reminder.
When you turn your clocks back an hour, they want you to replace the batteries in your smoke detectors, too. Across the U.S. last year, 2,500 people were killed in fires. Eighty three percent of those deaths came in house fires. Firefighters say, if all homes had working smoke detectors, more than half of those people may have survived.
