SunTrust Expected to get Back in Black

Georgia’s three biggest banks report third quarter earnings beginning Thursday with what is expected to be a profitable showing from hometown giant SunTrust Banks.
SunTrust, the largest bank based in Georgia and metro Atlanta's marketshare leader, signaled last month it will be profitable for the first time since 2008. SunTrust has lost more than $2 billion since the end of 2008, and it accepted $4.85 billion in federal assistance during the height of the financial crisis.
