State Tax Revenue Grows 5.7% in September

September made three months in a row of tax revenue growth for Georgia.

The Georgia Department of Revenue reported Thursday the state took in $1.45 billion in tax revenue last month, up 5.7 percent from September 2009. The figure includes $416.6 million in sales tax revenue (up 20.5 percent), $108.5 million in corporate income tax revenue (down 22.5 percent), $796.2 million in individual income tax revenue (up 6.1 percent), $82.6 million in motor fuel tax revenue (up 16.2 percent) and $1.8 million in property tax revenue (down 65.4 percent).
